St John’s - St Margaret’s Church is a traditional Anglican church with a cosy and intimate character. Its classic church setting provides a warm backdrop for wedding ceremonies, while the surrounding grounds offer several different spaces for portraits and photographs with family and friends.

There are several photo opportunities around the church, including the main church entrance and the surrounding garden. The different levels around the church grounds can also be used to create variation in the photographs, giving us different perspectives and compositions without having to go far from the ceremony venue.
Our Experience Photographing/Videographing Weddings at St John's - St Margaret's Church
The church has specific boundaries around photography during the ceremony, including not allowing photographers to photograph from the stage. This means we need to work from the sides of the sanctuary and use longer lenses to capture the couple and their guests.
We usually discuss the couple's positions and ceremony flow beforehand so we can anticipate where the important moments will happen and find the best possible angles while respecting the church's boundaries.
This approach allows us to stay unobtrusive while still capturing the emotional moments throughout the ceremony — from the couple's entrance and reactions to the vows, ring exchange and moments shared with family and friends.
