A Day Filled With Laughter, Happy Tears and So Much Love
From the very beginning, Yizi and Ernest's wedding was one of those days that constantly swung between laughter and tears.
The morning started with the gatecrash, where Ernest had to recite ten promises to Yizi with the help of a group of rather unpredictable ducks. The idea was for the ducks to repeat whatever he said, but their recordings were so sensitive that they kept making random noises at unexpected moments instead. Needless to say, everyone was in stitches.
After the games and the tea ceremony at both homes, we headed to Bishan Park for a short portrait session with the couple and bridal party. Among the many spots we visited, one tree and bench held special meaning for the two of them. It was where they had spent time together during their dating days, and returning there felt like revisiting a chapter that meant a lot to both of them.
The outdoor solemnisation at 1-Arden was beautiful despite the warm weather. What I remember most was how joyful everyone was throughout the ceremony. No one complained about the heat - family and friends were simply happy to be there to celebrate alongside Yizi and Ernest.
Throughout the day, I found myself holding back tears more than once. There were so many touching moments, and it was clear how close-knit both families were. You could see how genuinely happy everyone was for the couple, and that warmth carried through every part of the celebration.
One detail that stayed with me was a small keychain hanging from Yizi's bouquet, dedicated to her late father. It was a quiet reminder that even though some loved ones may no longer be physically present, they are never truly absent from moments like these. Seeing that small tribute brought tears to my eyes and reminded me once again that weddings are really about relationships - the people who have shaped us, the people who stand beside us, and the bonds that continue to stay with us, even in spirit.

Looking back at Yizi and Ernest's wedding at 1-Arden, I'm reminded that some of the most meaningful moments are often the simplest ones. From the laughter during the gatecrash to the tears shared throughout the day, I feel incredibly thankful to have witnessed and documented a celebration that was so full of love, joy and genuine connection. It was a beautiful reminder of why weddings matter, and why being entrusted to photograph these moments is something I never take for granted.
