Two Gatherings, A Whole Lot of Love
Rachel and Jun Hao’s wedding celebrations at Claudine felt especially familiar to photograph, as I had previously photographed Jun Hao’s brother and sister-in-law’s wedding. It was lovely to see familiar faces again, this time gathered to celebrate Rachel and Jun Hao.
The venue was beautifully decorated with florals and greenery, creating a lovely setting for both the lunch and dinner celebrations.
Lunch was an intimate gathering with family and friends, filled with heartfelt speeches from the couple, both fathers and the couple’s friends. There were moments of thanksgiving, tears, and musical performances by family members, including violin and singing. It was touching to see loved ones contribute in their own ways to make the celebration personal.
Dinner brought a different atmosphere, with bride's dad, Mr Tan setting the tone during his welcome speech by joking, “Smile for the photos or at least look happy to be here!” The room was filled with energy, conversations and laughter, as the bride’s father’s friends came together for what felt like a reunion. Old friendships were rekindled, familiar stories were shared, and everyone had plenty to catch up on.
Looking back at Rachel and Jun Hao’s wedding at Claudine, what stood out to me was how the two celebrations brought people together in different ways. Lunch was filled with heartfelt moments and gratitude among family and close friends, while dinner was full of reconnections and lively conversations. It was lovely to document both sides of the celebration, and to see familiar faces come together once again, this time to celebrate Rachel and Jun Hao.
