Back to School, But Dressed for a Wedding!
Back to School, But Dressed for a Wedding!
Zhi Qi and Elijah's wedding was probably one of the most memorable and unique celebrations I've photographed. Since both of them are teachers who first met during their NIE days, it felt only right that their wedding brought everyone back to school again.
And everyone really committed to the theme.
Family and friends showed up dressed in school uniforms and retro outfits, and it was honestly quite hilarious seeing even the older uncles and aunties fully embracing the youthful look. The atmosphere throughout the day was incredibly lively, with plenty of laughter and spontaneous moments from the very beginning.
Before the celebrations started, we spent some time outside the school hall for a short portrait session. There was something nostalgic about the setting, and it suited the two of them perfectly.
The school hall itself was decorated with balloons, and even the bridal bouquet was made out of balloons, adding to the playful spirit of the day. The emcee fully embraced the theme as well, going into "discipline mistress mode" whenever she took the microphone. One of my favourite moments was seeing the bride's mum dressed up as the principal, which definitely got plenty of smiles from everyone.
After the celebrations in the hall, guests headed to the school canteen for the lunch reception. It was a setting that felt familiar and meaningful to the couple, and one that tied the whole story together beautifully.

Looking back at Zhi Qi and Elijah's wedding, what I remember most wasn't just how creative everything was, but how wholeheartedly everyone joined in. From the relatives who came dressed in school uniforms to the laughter shared throughout the day, it really felt like one big reunion. I'm grateful to have documented a celebration that reflected the couple so well, and one that I'm sure everyone who attended will remember for a long time.
