St Joseph's Church along Upper Bukit Timah Road is one of Singapore's oldest Catholic churches, established in 1845. The building has a Gothic and Romanesque design with a distinctive central tower that's visible from a distance, and the long aisle inside makes for a really beautiful wedding procession. It's also the last remaining Catholic church in Singapore with a cemetery on its grounds, which adds a unique sense of history and weight to the setting.

The church compound itself has some really lovely portrait spots. The brick walls and arches within the grounds give photos a really warm, heritage character, and the garden area is a beautiful natural setting for couple portraits without needing to go far at all. The church exterior with its distinctive tower is also worth using for more formal shots.
Our Experience Shooting Weddings at St Joseph Church Bukit Timah
The long aisle inside the church is a real highlight for ceremony shots, giving us a beautiful depth and perspective that shorter churches just don't offer. But what we really appreciate about this venue is how much the compound itself offers for portraits. The brick walls, the arches, and the garden all give us strong, characterful options right on the grounds. It's one of the more rewarding Catholic churches to shoot at in Singapore.
