Around Empress Lawn, the open grass and mature trees give us a softer change of scenery. This area is particularly useful when we want to step away from the architecture and photograph the couple in a more relaxed setting. Empress Place itself sits along the Singapore River and is surrounded by historic landmarks, giving us several different backdrops within a relatively compact area.
The riverfront in front of the Asian Civilisations Museum is another highlight. The water gives us an open background and can make for more spacious, formal photographs. We can also work around the nearby underpass, which has a more futuristic and architectural appearance and provides an interesting contrast to the heritage surroundings. The underpass sits beneath Anderson Bridge and links the Civic District towards Esplanade Park.
Anderson Bridge itself is also pedestrianised, which makes it much more comfortable to photograph along the bridge compared with a typical road setting.
