Canterbury Road is a quiet, open stretch of greenery that can feel surprisingly removed from the usual Singapore landscape. Beyond the more forested approach, the area opens up into a sloping field with wide views across the surroundings. With the long grass, trees and open sky, it can have a little of the Cameron Highlands feel, especially when the view is clear and the light starts to soften towards sunset.

Photo Opportunities & Our Experience at Canterbury Road
The open field is where we would spend most of the shoot, using the slope, sky and surrounding greenery to create wider environmental photographs. Because the setting itself is quite open and understated, the photographs tend to work best when there is movement- walking down the slope, running through the grass, chasing each other or simply wandering around together.
There are also trees along the side of the field that add another layer to the photographs. A swing installed among the trees can make for a few playful frames, while the nearby road can also be incorporated into the shoot for a more everyday, documentary feel. Cars are often parked along the roadside, which can sometimes add to that lived-in atmosphere.
The location is particularly beautiful towards late afternoon and sunset, when the softer light falls across the field. Rather than relying on the surroundings for activities or interaction, we would use the space itself as the backdrop and let the couple's movement carry the photographs. For adventurous couples looking for a quieter, more unexpected side of Singapore, Canterbury Road offers something quite different from the usual pre-wedding photography locations.
